Lily Rose Beatrice Allen (born May 2, 1985 in London, England) is an English electro-pop/alternative/ska singer-songwriter, mostly known for her songs: "Smile", "LDN" and "The Fear". She is the daughter of comedian/actor/songwriter/frequent New Order collaborator Keith Allen and film producer Alison Owen. She is also the Goddaughter of Joe Strummer, the late singer/guitarist for The Clash. She has released two hit albums as of 2009: "Alright, Still" (2006) and "It's Not Me, It's You" (2009).
Her first single "Smile" reached number one on the UK singles charts in July 2006. In December 2006 her debut album Alright, Still was voted the third best album of the year by Mixmag. In 2007 it was nominated for the award of Best British Album at the Brits.
In 2008 she got her own TV show "Lily Allen and Friends" on BBC3.
Sept. 2nd 2008, at the GQ Awards, she received a very public dressing down from industry veteran Sir Elton John with whom she co-hosted the event.
When Allen told the audience "Now we reach a very special point in the evening", Sir Elton replied: "What, you are going to have another drink?"
Allen responded: "F*** off Elton, I'm 40 years younger than you, I have my whole life ahead of me."
The 61-year-old superstar replied: “I could still snort you under the table.”
